Compare the same kind of company

Start with the company type you intend to form. The prices shown on Namecheck.ie relate to published LTD formation options. Different company types and circumstances can change the work involved and the quote.

Our comparison is a shortlist, not a personalised recommendation. Ask the provider to confirm that its package fits your circumstances.

Make VAT visible

A VAT-inclusive figure and a VAT-exclusive figure cannot be compared directly. Keep the provider’s tax label next to the price and ask for the total before ordering. Where tax treatment is unclear, confirm it rather than assuming.

List the things you actually need

Use your own list: incorporation, filing fees, digital or printed documents, registered office, secretary, tax registration and later filings. Ask which items are included, which are optional and which renew annually.

Paying for a larger package can make sense if it covers tasks you would otherwise purchase separately. A simpler package can work if you already have support.

Check the source and the date

Prices change. We link to published provider information and show when it was reviewed. Always confirm the current package and checkout total with the provider. Our formation comparison puts three starting options side by side.

Work through an explicitly hypothetical budget

Imagine a fictional founder comparing two made-up quotes. Both totals below include any applicable tax for illustration; they are not current provider offers. The founder needs incorporation and an address service but already has an adviser handling the other administration.

Example A has the lower initial formation figure and first-year total. Example B has the lower two-year total under these fictional assumptions. This exercise does not include every possible cost; it shows why the comparison period and services matter. Replace each figure with a written quote for your own circumstances.

Distinguish verified prices from unknown extras

Our three-provider comparison keeps each package's published tax label next to its headline figure. It also separates known package information from items that need a provider quote. “Not confirmed” means we have not established that inclusion; it does not automatically mean a service is absent.

Do not add a filing fee a second time when the actual package includes it. Do not add optional services merely because they appear on a provider's order form. Start with your own required scope, then ask the provider to confirm which tasks and fees its total covers.

Request a quote you can actually compare

Send each provider the same concise brief: intended company type, whether address or secretary services are needed, document preference and who handles later administration. Ask for the final payable amount, any continuing charges, renewal dates and cancellation terms. Keep the response with its date.
