Information you enter.
The name check sends the proposed company name to our server only when you submit the form. The planned live service will pass that name to businesses.ie for a register search. The current version has no live provider connection and does not store searches in an application database.
The sample result runs locally in your browser. Domain suggestions are created locally. Following a hoster.ie suggestion passes the suggested domain in its search URL. Hoster.ie and the planned Businesses.ie service share our operator, Configurix Ltd. Read each service’s privacy notice for its processing details.
Cookies and analytics.
Optional measurement is disabled on the review preview. On the production website, we ask before collecting page-visit counts, name-check actions, provider-click counts, checklist downloads and performance measurements. You can decline or change your choice using Privacy settings in the footer. Declining does not prevent use of the website. Browser privacy signals are respected.
After a choice, a local browser preference stores that choice for up to 180 days; it contains no visitor identifier. Consented event data is aggregated by day, public page, event, provider or outcome, coarse country code, referral channel, viewport category and performance bucket. The application metrics database does not store proposed names, searched domains, email addresses, IP addresses, full referrers, device identifiers or individual browsing histories. Counts are not unique visitors or confirmed sales.
Aggregates are stored in Cloudflare D1 and are scheduled for deletion after 13 months. Cloudflare processes connection information to deliver and protect the website, including IP addresses used transiently by the rate limiter. This is separate from our aggregate-only metrics storage. No advertising pixels or Google Analytics scripts are installed. Google Search Console is used by the operator to understand search discovery; it does not add a tracking script to the website.
Before public launch.
Details of live businesses.ie processing, provider terms and applicable hosting processing arrangements must be finalised before enabling live search. The educational guides identify their recorded reviewer, date and review scope. Contact info@namecheck.ie with a privacy question or request; do not send identity documents in an ordinary email.
