Before buying, ask the provider to confirm the company type, payable total, included filings and documents, exclusions, recurring charges, correction support and the tasks that remain yours after incorporation.
Start with the work you need done
A package name is a marketing label rather than a complete specification. Give the provider a short description of the company you intend to form and any circumstances that may need extra support. Ask whether the advertised package fits that description or whether you need a separate quote.
The CRO’s incorporation process includes Form A1 and a constitution. Ask who prepares, checks and presents the actual documents, and which decisions the founders must provide. A quote should make responsibilities understandable before you pay.
Send a compact scope questionnaire
| Ask the provider | Useful answer |
|---|---|
| What is the final payable total? | Amount, VAT treatment and filing charges |
| Which documents will we receive? | Named deliverables and digital or printed format |
| What costs renew? | Service, date, term and renewal charge |
| What happens if the filing is returned? | Correction scope and possible extra fee |
| What does the turnaround measure? | The starting point, scheme and dependencies |
| Which tasks remain ours? | A clear post-incorporation handover list |
Keep the answer in writing and attach it to the package page or quote you reviewed. That record is more useful than assuming all providers use the same definition of “included”.
Ask about recurring services before adding them
If an address, secretary, compliance or other continuing service is offered, ask what it does in practice, how long it runs and how to stop or replace it. Ask how official correspondence reaches you and who responds to it.
Separate “service offered” from “service included in this exact package”. If the provider offers several tiers, ask them to name the tier in the reply. Check whether a promotional price applies only initially and which charges depend on your circumstances.
Use a fictional decision brief
Consider two founders comparing three quotes for their invented venture “Mossline Projects”. They already have an accountant, so they ask which services would duplicate that support. They need a clear digital document handover and support if a name is rejected.
They put the providers’ answers in adjacent columns and highlight unknowns. They do not declare a winner by counting the largest number of package features. Their choice depends on the work they actually need, the written total and the responsibility each provider accepts.
This example does not recommend a particular provider or say that the named venture can be registered. It illustrates how a short brief can make a comparison more useful.
Confirm the handover and follow-up route
Ask who will send the incorporation documents, how you can raise a question afterwards and which post-formation tasks are outside the package. Make sure the founders know where the records will be stored and who will act on official correspondence.
Our three-provider comparison is a shortlist based on published information, with tax labels and unknowns visible. Use the cost guide for budgeting and the timeline guide for scheduling. The questionnaire here helps turn those starting points into a quote suitable for your circumstances.
